It was a beautiful fall morning at the Zoo in Baltimore on October 7th as over 1,000 supporters of The Family Tree and LifeBridge Health (LBH) came together to run and walk in support of children and families. As many of you already know, The Family Tree is now an affiliate of LifeBridge Health. This partnership provides us an opportunity to expand our child abuse prevention and parental support programs to serve more families across the state and to access the health system’s many resources. This year, we transitioned our Lace Up to End Child Abuse event to the Brent A. Rosenberg Family Walk at LBH’s Race for Our Kids.
The event included a 10K and 5K run, and a one-mile family walk, now named in memory of Brent A. Rosenberg, in honor of the Rosenberg family who are dedicated Family Tree supporters. By joining the two events together reached a wider audience, greatly extending our mission to new audiences.
After the runners and walkers were finished, everyone came together to celebrate. There was a ton of food and activities to enjoy for everyone including face painting, a magic show, and many games. The joy was felt by all! The celebration ended just as the Zoo was opening up and families were able to spend the rest of the day together, enjoying the Maryland Zoo!
Together, we raised over $70,000 to support our family strengthening and child abuse prevention programs.
